Amazon now allows T-mobile customers to link their mobile numbers and make or receive hands-free Wi-Fi calls through Alexa-enabled devices like Echo Dot or Echo Show. The new feature comes in the form of an Alexa skill, which can link your T-Mobile service directly to your Alexa Account. The new feature joins the other big US carriers AT&T and Verizon in enabling Alexa to handle phone calls. Once you've linked your T-Mobile number to Alexa, you'll be able to tell Alexa to call anyone on your contact list. For example, you can say "Alexa, call Susan," and the call will be placed using your T-Mobile digits. On the flip side, Alexa will also field incoming T-Mobile calls. Once Alexa announces the caller, you can pick up by saying "Alexa, answer call," or you can ghost the caller by saying "Alexa, dismiss call." "With this new Alexa Skill, you have the ability to integrate your mobile number with Alexa across all three major network carriers in the U.S.: T-Mobile, AT&T, and Verizon. This benefit provides you with more choice and makes it easier to connect with family and friends who matter most, whenever you want and wherever you are," Amazon said in a blog post. By default, Amazon will connect all Alexa-enabled devices to T-Mobile calling. To remove a device, like the kids' Echo Dot or the Echo Show 15 in the kitchen, disable the feature under "Allow calling on" in the mobile app. Users may also turn off incoming calls and use their smart speakers only for outbound conversations by selecting "OFF" under the specific devices toggle.
